The Hotel de Paris is located in a picturesque quayside setting in the famous 17th century, unspoilt town of Sète. It is situated metres from the Canal Royal, which acts as the starting point to the famous Canal du Midi in one direction and leads to the Mediterranean sea in the other.
The three-star hotel opened in 2010, renovated from an historic building. It offers 36 bright and stylish individually designed rooms, decorated with locally sourced modern art and acts as a ideal spot for visitors to sip cocktails, standing out from its more traditional neighbouring buildings. The hotel opened its small 200sqm Sereniti Spa in May this year, offering basic treatments including massage, waxing, manicures and pedicures in its two treatment rooms. The spa is set over two levels: the ground fl oor includes a retail area, the treatment rooms and a relaxation area, and the basement level houses the wet area including a whirlpool, a sauna and a hammam.

“At the moment it is very early days,” says Hotel Director Cécile Martinez, who is overseeing the development of the spa. “We currently have around a 10 per cent capture rate but we’d like that to rise to around 30 per cent. We plan to evaluate how things are going in six months time and then look at developing signature treatments. “We are the only facility that offers spa services in Sète so we are uniquely positioned. It is our hope that the spa will become independently profi table in the coming months.” Treatment packages offered at the moment
include Escale in Bali, which consists of a scrub and massage and the Sereniti Day package, including a full body exfoliation and massage, a body wrap, a facial, a manicure and pedicure, plus lunch. The product range, Bioreline, consists of plant- based beauty products containing up to 90 per cent organic ingredients from Fairtrade sources. Bioreline produces moisturising products that use fl oral waters and cold pressed oils that have been specially selected for their gentle anti-oxidant and free radical eliminating powers.
