Bio Sculpture Gel was founded by Elmien Scholtz, who had a vision to create a nailcare product that not only looked beautiful but was long lasting, natural looking, durable and enhanced the natural nail. Since its inception, Bio Sculpture Gel has grown its distribution to over 30 countries and the demand for the product continues to soar. The primary branded products are manufactured in-house in South Africa and R&D remains a key focus within the company.

What differentiates your brand from others on the market? Bio Sculpture Gel was the fi rst colour soak-off gel to be launched. Every year since, the brand has grown with new inventions, products and methods to ensure greater client satisfaction. We look at every type of nail, every kind of client, all fi nancial situations and try to accommodate everyone without compromising on quality.
Why should spa owners consider using your brand? Our product has no fumes or odours and minimal dust, so it is ideal for a spa environment. We offer a large range of colour gels as well as treatment gels for all nail types. We also have a large spa range of manicure and pedicure products for salon use and retail.
What training and after-sales support do you offer? We have various training courses at venues all over the world for experienced nail technicians and beginners. We encourage technicians to improve their skills by learning new and advanced methods to give them confi dence to try new techniques and improve their services to their clients. In some countries, trainers are available in a number of areas for local training and assistance.
What are the latest product innovations within your company? We are constantly assessing fashion and trends within the nail industry, such as nail art, and providing trained
technicians with the tools and the ideas they need to offer their clients up-to-date treatments.
What new trends do you see emerging for 2013 and beyond? Nail trends are becoming as popular as fashion trends and no matter what the age of the client, they can always sport the latest nail trend. Nail art has been taken to a new level with various fashion trends, such as real snakeskin embedded into gel, and now feathers and lace are also being used in nail design.
Where does the inspiration behind your colour collections come from? When the brand was fi rst launched, our colours were basic red, pinks, oranges and browns. Times have changed and, while the original colours are still popular, our young development team keep an eye on the catwalks and beauty magazines to compile new shades and collections from the designers’ seasonal fashion collections.
What add-ons from your brand would you recommend for manicure/pedicure services? The Bio Sculpture Spa range of manicure and pedicure products is fragranced with scents including rose petal and apricot and will soothe dry skin and indulge clients while creating a pleasant aroma in the nail area.
