A business that cares


Dale and Diana Bevington purchased their Home Instead Senior Care franchise in 2007 and have seen it grow from strength to strength


a celebration of the difference that their business makes to people’s lives. Earlier this year Dale and Diana were

announced as finalists in the Laing & Buisson Independent Specialist Care Awards along with fellow Home Instead Senior Care franchisee Clare Jefferies from the Wimbledon office. These prestigious national awards recognise business success and the provision of quality care, and it was quality care which led the Finchley franchisees to Home Instead. Dale’s father, who lived in Canada, was

ome Instead Senior Care is regularly recognised in care industry awards but for owners of the Finchley franchise, Dale and Diana Bevington, the awards are


same problems as many others in their situation – finding the right help. The process the family went through


to find support for his father led Dale to appreciate the need that so many people have for care in their own homes. This experience coincided with Dale, in


his own words, “reaching an age where I wanted to do something new”. After running a successful London-based industrial design consultancy, Dale took some time off to consider his options – and as he’d always had an interest in demographics and social change looked at business opportunities in this area. Dale and Diana knew people who


worked in the care sector and the couple found Home Instead through a web search. The couple researched other care companies but none offered the ethos of Home Instead. Dale says: “When

as part of the local support network for sufferers. “We have met a lot of Home Instead


franchise owners and I think that the common thread that links us is that we are reaching out to our local community with a business with meaning rather than ‘chasing the money’. I think we all believe that if you are really interested in what you are doing, and do a good job, then success will follow as a natural consequence.” For Home Instead Senior Care

Making a difference each day and pursuing the company’s mission statement of “becoming the UK’s most admired care company by changing the face of ageing”, is why they start a care business.
