Northeast District, CA, lodge members visited the Iouannis A. Lougaris VA Medical Center in Reno, NV, and treated 135 veterans and staff members to a meal. Lodge members and staff members delivered meals to veterans who were unable to leave their rooms. civic organizations, visited the Nevada Veterans Nursing Home and held a Keep the Spirit of ’45 Alive Program to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the end of World War II. More than 50 veterans residing at the home, including 23 WW II veterans, attended the program.


Derry-Salem, NH, Lodge hosted a Veterans Dinner, which was attended by 24 veterans and six aides from the Manchester VA Medical Center and the New Hampshire Veterans Home, along with several local veterans.

Jefferson City, MO, Lodge held its fourth annual Run for the Vets Motor Rally fund-raiser and raised $6,000 for lodge veterans activities. In other news, the lodge hosted Gateway (Portland), OR, Lodge member Scot King during his attempt to bicycle to the capitals of all 48 contiguous states on behalf of Remem- ber the Wounded Ride, a charity that raises awareness about veterans issues and assists the families of veterans. Lodge members presented King, who is a US Marine Corps

veteran and the founder of Remember the Wounded Ride, with a Missouri state flag and arranged for him to interview a WW II veteran who had been awarded the Purple Heart.


Lake of the Ozarks, MO, Lodge donated $1,000 to the Missouri Veterans Home–Warrensburg to help purchase a daily dessert for the veterans living there.


Boulder City, NV, Lodge members, along with members of several other


Mahwah, NJ, Lodge held its annual Summer Veterans Barbecue and treated 18 veterans from the Veterans Memorial Home–Paramus to a dinner and bingo games at the lodge.


Nutley, NJ, Lodge donated $300 to a US Army soldier who lost both legs below the knee and sustained other injuries in Afghanistan.


Las Vegas, NM, Lodge members provided more than 190 bottles of drinking water to people who attended the opening of a new VA Community- Based Outpatient Clinic in Las Vegas.
