In other news, the lodge donated the use of its lodge grounds and lodge members volunteered several hundred hours of labor to the Delray Beach chapter of the United States Junior Chamber to hold their 17th annual Fishing Tournament fund-raiser.
Fort Walton, FL, Lodge, along with a chain restaurant, held a Fishing Tournament fund-raiser and raised $15,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida, which provides housing to family members of hospitalized children.
Newark, DE, Lodge members attended a 9/11 Candlelight Memorial Service and paid tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11. Prior to the service, lodge members distributed 100 small US flags, more than 50 “Proud to be American” stickers, and more than 50 candles to people who attended the ceremony. Holiday Isles, FL, Lodge members attended a Dedication Ceremony for the City of Madeira Beach’s 9/11 Memorial, which pays tribute to the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks. The memorial structure includes a girder from the World Trade Center.
Hollywood West, FL, Lodge members treated eight paramedics from Fire/ Rescue Station No. 45 to dinner at the
Wilmington, DE, Lodge sponsored an entry into the Delaware Association of Police’s Pushmobile Derby. The car was built by lodge member Walter Albers with the help of a $100 donation from the lodge and was driven by eight-year-old J. R. Squire, who finished fourth in the race.
