2011–2012 GL Lodge Activities/State Associations Committee Contests R

ECOGNIZING outstanding performers at the na- tional level allows the GL Lodge Activities/State Associations Committee contests to bring not only a sense of prestige and pride to the lodges and state associations participating but also promotes participa- tion in our Grand Lodge programs. The contests provide an opportunity for lodges across the nation to provide proof that not only do Elks Give from the Heart but also that Elks Care—Elks Share. Because each contest entry is judged against the entries from other lodges or state associations of the same membership level, each entry has an equal opportunity to win.

Please take the opportunity to enter the Grand Lodge

contests to ensure that your lodge or state association is properly recognized for its contributions to our Order. For the leaders of our lodges, the real challenge is to help develop the committees that will work to perfect the lodge’s activities in each of the contest areas. Then the activities need to be properly documented and the mate- rials submitted by each contest’s deadline. It is very probable that the lodge members are already doing al- most all the things that these contests cover with the exception of providing the documentation, as these ac- tivities are our goals as Elks.

For all the information on the requirements and dead- lines of these contests, consult your 2011–2012 GL Lodge Activities/State Associations Committee Program bro-

chure or go to the Grand Lodge Committees, Lodge Activities/State Associations Committee section on the Grand Lodge website at elks.org. You can also obtain copies from your district deputy, your state association Lodge Activities chairman or the appropriate Grand Lodge area representative of the GL Lodge Activities/ State Associations Committee.
