Washington-Rockville, MD, Lodge members staffed the state associa- tion’s drug awareness trailer at the nine-day 2011 Montgomery County Agricultural Fair and distributed drug awareness pamphlets and other materials to about 4,000 fairgoers.


Nebraska Elks Association members staffed a booth during the 11-day Nebraska State Fair and gave 1,000 drug awareness coloring books, 2,000 pencils, and a large number of stickers to children who visited the booth.


Cobleskill, NY, Lodge members honored third-grade student Emily Smith for winning the New York State Elks Association’s Drug Awareness Poster Contest and presented her with a $500 savings bond.


Norwich, NY, Lodge members staffed the state association’s drug awareness trailer during the lodge’s 100th anniversary celebration and distrib- uted packets of drug awareness information to more than 250 children and adults.


State College, PA, Lodge donated $1,000 to the State College Area High School All Night Party Committee to support a drug- and alcohol-free all- night party following the school’s Senior Prom.


Cookeville-Sparta, TN, Lodge mem- bers staffed the state association’s drug awareness trailer at the Cooke- ville Fall FunFest 2011 and gave drug awareness information to more than 400 people.


Denton, TX, Lodge members staffed the district’s drug awareness trailer at the annual Arts, Antiques, and Autos Extravaganza and gave drug aware- ness information to thousands of people who visited the booth. Addi- tionally, lodge members made balloon animals for visitors. ■

u BEDFORD, VA, Lodge members, with the help of Elroy the Elk, staffed a booth at the Bedford Centerfest and distributed 550 bags of drug awareness literature, about 700 drug awareness coloring books, and a large number of red ribbons and red balloons to children and parents who visited the booth.
