For his Eagle Scout Project, Stewart led the construction of a new dog shelter for Roo Valley Greyhound Rescue in Stormstown. Zimmerer, for his Eagle Scout Project, led a project that built a pedestrian access trail from Oak Ridge Avenue to the Thompson Woods Preserve. Carlisle, PA, Lodge members partici- pated in a 9/11 Memorial Service held at Carlisle High School to commemo- rate the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks. A lodge member served as master of ceremonies for the two-hour service, which about 700 people attended.
Johnstown, PA, Lodge held its third annual BPOE Cruise Classic Car Show. The event featured 53 entries, drew more than 200 spectators, and raised $1,800 for the Pennsylvania Elks Home Service Program, which is the state major project and provides in-home therapy to children with special needs.

Bedford, VA, Lodge used part of a $1,000 ENF Gratitude Grant to donate $500 to spon- sor a three-day Growing up in World War II summer day camp at the National D-Day Memorial. During the camp, 15 fourth- through sixth-grade students learned about WW II history and day-to-day life on the home front. Additionally, the campers were “enlisted” into a mock–WW II US Navy.
