Relief Fund to Greene County Middle School, whose building was destroyed in tornadoes that struck North Carolina in April. The funds will be used to purchase US flags for the school’s classrooms.
In other news, lodge members volunteered to assist the Lenoir/Green Counties United Way’s Stuff the Bus Project, which gathers donations of school supplies to be distributed to needy students.
Morehead City-Beaufort, NC, Lodge, in cooperation with other civic organi- zations, held a 9/11 Memorial Ride, in which were entered about 100 motor- cycles, about two dozen antique cars, several fire trucks, and a shuttle bus containing additional participants. About 250 people took part in the ride, which was held to honor the first responders who died in the September 11 terrorist attacks. Following the ride, the lodge hosted a lunch, which featured musical entertainment and a bounce house for the children in attendance.
East Liverpool, OH, Lodge donated a $1,000 ENF Gratitude Grant to the East Liverpool Police Department to purchase audio and video equipment.
Galion, OH, Lodge donated a $1,000 ENF Gratitude Grant to the Galion Police Department.
Gallipolis, OH, Lodge, in cooperation with a local golf course, held a Breast Cancer Awareness Golf Tournament, in which 75 golfers took part, and raised about $7,800 to help golf professional Nancy Tawney pay for breast cancer surgery.
Portland, OR, Lodge held its 40th annual Elks Children’s Eye Clinic Golf Tournament, which also featured a dinner, and raised $4,600 for the state major project, the Elks Children’s Eye Clinic at the Casey Eye Institute. In other news, the lodge donated
$750 to send a family with an autistic child to the Meadowood Springs Speech and Hearing Camp for a Family Autism-Spectrum Disorder Immersion Camp.

Springfield, OH, Lodge held a Golf Scramble fund-raiser and raised $500 for the Springfield Police Division’s K-9 unit to help purchase and train a second police dog. In more news, lodge members honored the winners of their Americanism Essay Contest and gave them savings bonds worth $200, $150, and $100 for first, second, and third place, respectively. The winners were Emma Parker (first), Madison Kimble (second), and Zeya Laws (third). Lodge members also presented a $200 savings bond from the Ohio Southwest District to Madison to recognize her for winning the district contest.
