Medina, NY — Trek, Inc. has intro- duced a new linear high voltage power amplifier, the Trek Model PZD700A, which offers wide band- width and additional features impor- tant in electro-optics, MEMS, piezo- electric driving and semiconductor applications. Compared to other lin- ear amplifiers in the marketplace, this new model offers a special com- bination of capabilities which enhance its versatility and utility. The wide bandwidth of Model


PZD700A, for both large signal and small signal levels, in combination with the company’s technology for pre- cise control of output voltages, enable the amplifier to address the specific need for high speed and fast settling when driving capacitive loads in elec- tro-optics, MEMS, piezoelectric driv- ing/control, semiconductor research and other demanding applications such as laser modulation, ion beam control and vibration damping. The amplifier provides a large


signal bandwidth greater than 125kHz (-3dB) and a small signal bandwidth greater than 200kHz (- 3dB). This bandwidth capability is especially important in new piezo and piezo-stack applications, which require the high current levels as provided by this new amplifier. The fully protected output

PI: More Stable SR Microscope Stages


Auburn, MA — PI (Physik Instru - mente) LP has added two higher-per- formance models to its successful PInano™ superresolution (SR) micro- scope stage series. The new models are equipped with direct-measuring capa - citive sensors. This type of sensor can provide higher linearity and long term stability than the lower cost piezore- sistive sensor-equipped stages. Capa - citive sensors are also less sensitive to noise due to a high-frequency meas- urement principle as opposed to the DC-based sensing technique used in piezoresistive sensors. The net effect is similar to the higher quality and lower noise on FM radio channels compared to AM radio. The large aperture accommodates


microscopy accessories such as slide holders, Petri dish holders, etc. The recessed bottom slide mount allows full rotation of the turret without in and out Z-motion, protecting valuable objec- tives.
