July, 2011 Keyence: New Spectral-Interference Metrology Tool
Woodcliff Lake, NJ — The Keyence SI-F1000 Series Micro-Head Spectral-Interference Laser Dis - place ment Sensor is designed to pro- vide high precision performance packed into a space saving 2mm diameter sensor head. This new design will provide laboratory accu- racy measurements inside the pro- duction process and even inside assembled products. The fiber-optic sensor heads
were designed from the ground up for optimum flexibility. Because the SI- F1000 is a low power optical system using fiber optic detection, high pre- cision measurements can be taken without introducing electromagnetic
effects or additional head to the measurement system. This means
installed in environments that defeat the implementation of conventional capacitance-based sensors. Implementation is made easier

not only reliable measurement out- put, but the system can also be
by combining these heads with the company’s digital controllers. Not only is external signal processing completely eliminated, but all con- troller models include built-in digital and analog data outputs. In addition, extensive onboard data storage and calculation functions make even the most complicated measurement regimes easy to implement with a few clicks of the SI-Navigator config- uration software. Typical applications include semiconductor wafer thickness and
warpage mapping; hard disk drive media thickness and surface charac- terization; in-line thickness meas- urement of transparent webs and coatings.

Night Vision Compatible LEDs from LEDCO
Complex components need reliable protection.
When you need to precisely spray and dispense liquid coatings, the SCS Precisioncoat selective spray and dispense coating system provides maximum accuracy and fl exibility. The system applies 100% solids, solvent-based and water-based coatings via three to fi ve axes. Optional features, such as needle calibration, vision system, offl ine programming and barcode reader capability, meet any production requirement.
SCS Precisioncoat systems connect seamlessly with SCS thermal and UV cure units, enabling components to move from coating to curing without operator intervention.

equipment and battlefield hardware. Used as a direct replacement for incandescent lamps, the LEDs ensure minimal heat dissipation and high reliability for critical aerospace applications. Available in nickel-plated or
black matte housings, the NVIS indi- cators are compliant with MIL-L- 85762A and MIL-STD-3009. The NVIS compatible indicators are avail- able in four NVIS LED color ranges: NVIS Green A, NVIS Green B, NVIS Yellow and NVIS Red. Using a provid- ed hex nut and gasket for a tight panel seal, the CR/BR series front mounts into a 0.312-in. (7.93mm) hole, and the CRM series rear mounts into a 0.315- in. (8.00mm) hole. Straight pin and wire lead terminations are available on both series. Popular custom options include
internal resistors, connectors, custom wire lengths and MIL-Spec wire, including MIL-W-22759. NVIS-com- patible LED indicators are manufac- tured at the company’s South Dakota factory, allowing a fast turn-around time.
The company manufactures
LED indicator lights, metal foil resis- tors and mechanical switches in its QPL-certified South Dakota factory. Contact: Wilbrecht LEDCO,
