THE PCR Awards 2011 don’t take place until Thursday March 17th, but time is running out if you want to nominate a company. We’ve been inundated with entries so far, so make sure you get yours in before Friday November 26th. In the meantime, here’s a roundup of the latest announcements, and a recap of how the awards work. PCR has stepped up the

entertainment this time round, with Greg Davies hosting the 2011 event. Most will recognise him as Mr Gilbert from hit TV show The Inbetweeners, and he has also appeared on 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Mock the Week, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, The World Stands Up and The Comedy Store. Davies is also one third of the

anarchic sketch act We Are Klang, which has performed four critically acclaimed sell-out Edinburgh Festival shows and in 2006 was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award. In spring 2007 the team wrote and performed their own radio show for the BBC and returned to appear on the Paramount Comedy Channel’s Edinburgh & Beyond stand-up series for their second consecutive year. Greg Davies

“Greg Davies is one of the most popular comedians currently on British screens, and we’re delighted to announce him as the host of the PCR Awards 2011,” said PCR’s managing editor Lisa Foster. “He’s a big name on the comedy circuit and in the TV industry, and the signing goes

to show how much the event has grown in just three years.” Distributors EntaTech and Interactive Ideas are once again supporting the PCR Awards, signing up as Platinum Partner and Gold Partner respectively. “The PCR Awards are a hugely successful event for us in terms of networking and the great coverage the publication gives the firms involved,” said EntaTech’s commercial group vice president Jon Atherton. “We’ve decided to become Platinum Partner for the event to reflect this – and we’re looking forward to another great night of celebration and recognition of the hard work done by the UK channel. See you all there.” Michael Breeze, marketing director at Interactive Ideas, added: “Engaging with partners is key to our business strategy, and the PCR Awards provide a great environment for this. We’ve always been a strong supporter of the event, which have been a tremendous success in previous years. We decided to become Gold Partner of the PCR Awards 2011 to reflect this support, and we look forward to another great night for the trade.”
