NEWS 3D rules at Retail Imaging Show Sony and Panasonic amongst photography giants unveiling new equipment and new technologies By Matt Grainger


LAST MONTH’S Retail Imaging Show was dominated by 3D cameras, with swathes of new equipment being unveiled by the likes of Sony and Panasonic. The event, which tool place at the


Marriot Grosvenor Square in Mayfair, had around 20 companies exhibiting, and 1,500 tickets were distributed. Although it’s one of the smaller trade shows, the dedicated event saw a steady stream of visitors. As well as the 3D tech on show,


Kodak and Mitsubishi Electric were demonstrating the capabilities of their Photobook creators, designed to offer additional value and add-on sales to


showcasing the new Sandisk SDXC cards, capable of holding up to 1TB of data. “I’m very happy with this years


show,” said Simon Skinner, marketing director at the events organisers Park View Media. “We’ve had a good reaction from the visitors, and the exhibitors are extremely happy, having beaten their sales figures from last year’s event.
