2010 is the year of change for Leslie Struthers, VP of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate. Consistently ranking among the top 10 percent of mortgage bankers in her field for the last 15 years, Struthers is no stranger to hard work. “This year is like no other when it comes to being on your A-game. You need to be out there making sure your Realtors and clients know what’s happening; no excuses.” Struthers has learned that thorough research, being willing to go to bat for a deal and keeping her word are necessary trademarks. “In this market, it’s important to know what you are able to do, and using your alternative referral sources helps as well.” After 19 years in the industry, Struthers feels lucky to work for Guaranteed Rate, a company that “consistently stays ahead of the curve.” In her free time, Struthers has three passions: Bikram Yoga, her family and animals. “This year my team and I found homes for 11 stray felines and reunited a few lost dogs with their owners.” She supports the Humane Society, Treehouse and World Wildlife Federation. “Please chip and ID your animals, especially indoor cats.
