Paul Carney’s Phoenix Rising, Second Chance LLC teamed up with Charles Eck’s Lincoln Mortgage & Funding to offer community financial institutions and their developers an all-encompassing solution to this challenging real estate market. Phoenix Rising has a staff of consultants with a combined 100-plus years of experience to assist clients in assessing troubled assets and solutions. Its five affiliated companies include a builders division to complete projects, an interior design division, a property management division that corrects condominium association issues and manages vacant properties and even a division that works to dramatically shorten the length and cost of taking possession of troubled properties. Fresh Horizon Realty, the company’s real estate brokerage, aggressively markets and sells the properties. Thinking out of the box, Lincoln Mortgage & Funding and Phoenix Rising created several innovative loan programs that offered their properties a competitive advantage. Eck founded Lincoln Mortgage & Funding in 1988, and was the past president of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers and has chaired several committees at both the state and national level. Carney, his partner in this endeavor, previously operated a mortgage company and managed two RE/MAX offices in the span of his real estate career.
