Fibre Channel Driver Software and HBAs
iFCP allows Fibre Channel hosts and storage to communicate over distance
over a WAN. Fibre Channel port addresses are mapped to IP addresses that
are retained in a table in the internet Storage Name Server (iSNS).
Connections are not permanent, which creates a loosely coupled, many-to-
many architecture. Any device can connect to any other device, providing they
are in the same zones.
iFCP uses TCP for segment reordering and flow control.
