In this module we will review the different I/O interfaces that are available on
the storage components we just reviewed.
We start with the older versions of each interface so we understand the
evolution that has been undertaken to get to the position we are in today. We
will see how parallel architectures are being replaced by serial interfaces for
higher performance and longer distance.
We will not cover Fibre Channel, although it is an I/O interface, in this module
as it is covered in more detail in later modules.
