The MA/MSc Outdoor and Adventurous Activities
is an exciting new course that provides an
opportunity for those who are working or
intending to work in any aspect of the Outdoor
Industry. The course is particularly relevant to F
aculty of Sport & Educ
anyone who has aspirations to manage a centre,
lead major expeditions, establish their own
business related to outdoor activities or work in
further or higher education as either a lecturer
or researcher.
You will study the core modules of common
interest to all who work in the outdoors and can
follow elective modules of their choice to suit
their career path.
The masters degree is completed with a major
independent study which can also be undertaken
in an area of personal interest. Students who
focus on the social science electives and major
independent study will be awarded an MA and
those focusing on science-based electives and
major independent study will be award an MSc.
If you undertake national governing body awards
as part of your elective programme you will be
expected to pay the fees for these awards. If you
opt for residential or expedition electives you will
also be expected to pick up any additional costs
associated with these activities.
There may be some additional costs for those
students wishing to take the option of the
residential experience abroad within the elective
on leadership development.
