WHAT A PLACE TO INVEST!
Saltburn Pier by Andrew Oxby
Redcar and Cleveland, what a place we have to offer! We have Britain’s largest Freeport, and in Teesworks, the UK’s largest and most connected industrial zone. We have massive investment opportunities that we’re inviting you to be part of.
We’re proud of our industrial past, and present: of iron ore mining, steelmaking
and process manufacturing to name just some; and we’re hugely excited about our industrial future. We’re at the heart of the UK’s green industrial revolution. Redcar and Cleveland will be home to the world’s first Net Zero industrial cluster by 2040, the UK’s largest green and blue hydrogen projects and a premier offshore wind location.
“When it comes to business opportunities and lifestyle choices, Redcar and Cleveland’s got the lot” - says Councillor Chris Gallacher, Cabinet member for Economic Growth at Redcar & Cleveland Council.

A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY Mostly located in Redcar and Cleveland, TEESSIDE FREEPORT is the UK’s best connected Freeport - immediately linked to the UK’s road and rail network, bringing key cities and regions within easy reach and unlocking global markets, major trade hubs and offshore projects. It also provides one of Britain’s largest integrated industrial economies with the skills and workforce to match. Building on existing manufacturing strengths, particularly in chemical and materials processing, biomanufacturing, offshore wind and renewable activity, Teesside Freeport will create more than 18,000
jobs and boost the local economy by billions, in the next five years alone.
Covering over 4,500 acres, TEESWORKS is the UK’s largest and most connected industrial zone, future home to diverse, sustainable and low-carbon activity. Offering immediate connectivity to Teesport, the North Sea and global markets, this multi-sector setting brings together global leaders and innovative pioneers
to power Britain’s carbon
capture capital. The opportunity is unrivalled in size, not just in the UK but across Europe.
Teesworks will be a nationally important offshore wind hub, with major projects lined up. Approval has been given for a 76,000sqm wind turbine blade factory and SeAH Wind is on site constructing their £300M monopile manufacturing facility on a 90-acre site. Both projects would create 750 direct jobs each and an estimated 1,500 jobs in the supply chain.
