Plans Submitted for Major Catterick Business Park
Eshton Group, in association with Castlevale Ltd, has submitted plans for a major 52 acre business park at Junction 52 of the A1M in Catterick that will bring millions of pounds of investment and create hundreds of jobs.
The ambitious plans for the site, which is to be branded Catterick 52, put forward a vision to turn the location into an industrial hub, attracting businesses from across the UK to drive local investment and employment to the region.
Leeds-based Eshton Group is the developer behind Burnley Bridge Business Park, the landmark development responsible for bringing in excess of £60m investment to its local area and creating more than 900 jobs so far. The planning application for the Catterick development closely mirrors the scale and scope of Burnley Bridge Business Park.
Representing a major economic
opportunity for Catterick, the business park will be aimed at industrial occupiers. As the UK faces a severe shortfall in warehouse availability and the fastest rise in prime headline rents since 2018, the development poses a solution to a national problem. Eshton hopes to attract tenants
from across the UK, driving business and investment into the region to provide a significant economic boost.

Catterick 52 will be jointly marketed by the Leeds offices of Colliers and Dove Haigh Phillips.
Wykeland Secures £80m World-Class Smith+Nephew Facility for Melton West Business Park
Leading Yorkshire commercial property developer
Wykeland Group has
secured an £80m-plus investment by global medical technology business Smith+Nephew.
Subject to planning approval, Smith+Nephew
has announced it will
build a new research and development and manufacturing facility for its Advanced Wound Management franchise at Wykeland’s Melton West business park in East Yorkshire.
The location is just eight miles from Smith+Nephew’s
current site in Hull,
where the business has been located for more than 100 years. The new facility is expected to open in 2024.
The investment will create a world- class R&D, manufacturing and flexible office environment, which is expected to support more than £8bn of sales in its first 10 years of operation.
Melton West business park has been
selected for the investment because of its proximity to the existing Hull facility. It also offers a site with the size and established infrastructure to accommodate the new facility and is allocated under the

East Riding of Yorkshire Local Plan for developments of this kind.
The 200-acre Melton West business park is one of Yorkshire and the Humber’s premier locations for investment and job creation. It enjoys a prime location west of Hull, off the A63 and connecting to the national motorway network within minutes via the M62.
The Smith+Nephew facility will be the latest major development at the growing site, which features more than one million sq ft of completed warehouse, distribution, manufacturing and office space.
In December last year Wykeland secured planning permission from East Riding of Yorkshire Council for a £170m retail logistics fulfilment centre at Melton West. This centre will have a footprint of 558,000 sq ft and create 1,300-1,500 permanent jobs, additional seasonal and indirect employment, and further jobs during the construction phase.
Last year Amazon opened a 125,000 sq ft last mile delivery centre on an adjacent site at Melton West and a new command and control facility for Humberside Police has recently been handed over and is due to be operational later this year.

Performance Company Catapults into 34 Boar Lane in Leeds

A leading international sports performance analysis company is moving into the iconic 34 Boar Lane in Leeds.
Catapult has just agreed a deal to take 5,608 sq ft of office space on the second floor of the recently refurbished building.
Owner Kinrise is behind the transformation of 34 Boar Lane, a 57,000 sq ft building with 46,000 sq ft of office space over five floors and cafes and restaurants on the ground floor. It is located immediately opposite Leeds Railway Station in the heart of the city’s professional and retail quarters.
Second Phase of Wakefield’s Prime Employment Park Launched
The second phase of the successful Flanshaw Business Park development in Wakefield is well underway
West Yorkshire’s number one multi-let developer, Frank Marshall
Estates of
Bradford, bought the four-acre site from Flanshaw Property Ltd for £1.3 million in 2020.
Since then, the first phase of the prime employment park on the outskirts of Wakefield, by Junction 40 of the M1, has been fully let.
This phase was speculatively developed last year and featured 17 units, including seven hybrid Nano units and 10 light industrial and warehouse units ranging up to 9,500 sq ft.
The second phase of the acclaimed development comprises 26,000 sq ft of brand-new, high-quality units ranging in size from 1,500 sq ft. up to 6,000 sq ft. Work has now started on site and it is scheduled to be completed by June next year.
