Speaking on behalf of Vekoma, Charlotte van Etten said: “We feel honoured to have received this award for Best Roller Coaster Limited Budget for family coaster Saven at Fårup Sommerland and consider this a token of appreciation from the judges and park guests for our quality and creativity. It is a crown on our work and accomplishments and excellent cooperation of both the Vekoma Rides and Fårup Sommerland teams, particularly realising and successfully opening this new coaster under these difficult and restrictive circumstances.”
Commenting on why she thinks the judges chose Saven, Charlotte said: “Saven is a new design Family Boomerang coaster that has an excellent
fit in the park with a beautiful setting in a natural environment, cutting through the trees. On a small footprint this coaster offers both fun and excitement, with a forward and backward ride, a speed of 60 km per hour with left-right swerving, sudden speed bursts and camel backs. The ride offers enough excitement for teens to create a great family experience.” Fårup, CEO, Niels Jørgen Jensenit said it felt “fantastic” to win this award “The recognition on the big work we put in this project, that turned out exactly as we hoped for – our little baby turned out great. We think Fårup and Saven is a perfect match and therefore we are so happy, that people from outside of Fårup also recognizes this. We are very thankful

and proud. The award furthermore means a lot to us, as Covid-19 has taken a lot of Saven’s “shine”. After a tough and very different season an award is extra, extra appreciated.
Asked why the judges chose Saven Tue Albrektsen, technical ,anager said, “I think because of its unique layout designed especially for our park, where we let the surroundings design the layout. And because it is a great thrill that the whole family can share.”
Will Fårup be taking part again next year? “Most definitely. It was a great pleasure, and we will be taking part again next year!” said Niels.
