water park can be. Vinterhal uses its indoor water park environment to full advantage, creating a holistically immersive adventure, uniquely themed around the mystical beauty of Scandinavia. The scope of the world is on full display throughout the detailed theming interwoven with the various high performance ProSlide rides.

ProSlide’s Jeff Jenovich , SVP Global Strategic Partnerships in Global Sales, had this to say: “Everyone at ProSlide is immensely proud of what we

accomplished, in partnership with the Mack family. This sprawling, indoor water park pushes every perceived boundary of what an indoor

From the “VINTER RYTT” (ProSlide TornadoWAVE) that propels riders high up a vertical ice wall, “SVALGUR RYTT” (ProSlide

MammothRIVER) offering a true family adventure, along with “TVÅ FALL” and “STORMVIND” (ProSlide CannonBOWL and PIPEline) that takes riders straight through the Vinterhal glacier, to the twin “Isbrekker” (ProSlide TWISTER drop slides), everything contributes to the industry-leading design of this iconic area of the water park. ProSlide has a lot of exciting installations coming in 2021 and we’re hopeful to be participating with the Macks and Rulantica again with more world-class attractions.”

Best Dark Ride or Media Based Experience - Fabula at Efteling

Supplied by Aardman Animations

Efteling CEO Fons Jurgens said: “We are thrilled to have won this award and we are proud that experts in our industry have acknowledged the quality and uniqueness of Fabula, whilst also recognising Efteling as an international destination for visitors. Despite the challenges this year, our staff have gone above and beyond to make sure that our guests can safely enjoy the attractions at Efteling. It means a lot to us to receive this award and hope to welcome more visitors again at Efteling in 2021.” Commenting on why he thinks the judges chose Fabula, Jurgens said: “It was created in collaboration with award winning independent studio Aardman, using the latest in film

and CGI animation technology combining 4-D effects and surround sound to create a humorous and dynamic film and experience that is suitable for all ages. The attraction incorporates the film but also a pre- show, and presence in the restaurant and play area making it a total concept. This immersive experience has been very successful with visitors and the themes of the content – touching on nature and man’s relationship with animals - are always popular and speak to all nationalities.”

“We think that the Park Excellence Awards are a great opportunity to showcase the achievements within the attractions industry and we look forward to taking part again in 2021.”
