Blitz is not your ordinary arcade racer. It’s a premium anchor attraction, the elusive lightning in a bottle.
What are the requirements to install the Hologate Blitz (size, power, internet) system?
The futuristic steering wheel can be easily switched from one axis to two axis control, allowing players the widest range of game options, and the ability to switch between driving and fl ying with the fl ick of a switch.
While details of the new product were released at last
year’s IAAPA expo, “nobody had played it outside of the Hologate offi ce until IAAPA Orlando. Just in time for the show, Andretti, a family entertainment centre right across the road from the Orange County Convention Centre became its fi rst live location, enabling the Hologate team and potential buyers to “get immediate responses from its debut in the wild.” As early adopters of the Holgate Arena, when Andretti found out there was a second platform, “they were chomping at the bit to get their hands on it,” says Leif. He continues: “Our high-end turnkey systems perfectly integrate with family entertainment centres, cinemas, bowling alleys, escape rooms, karting raceways, laser tag arenas, trampoline centres, climbing centres, shopping malls, cruise ships, theme parks, hotels, restaurants, resorts, casinos, and any other location that wants to upgrade with the latest

immersive technology.” Leif adds that the Hologate Blitz requires extremely low maintenance, compared to hydraulic and pneumatic systems commonly used in traditional motion simulators, due to its belt driven system. “The belt driven system in the Hologate Blitz is clean, quiet, and easy to maintain. Pneumatic systems make it more diffi cult to regulate speed and control due to the use of compressed air. They are also sensitive to water, vibrations and changing temperatures. Furthermore, pneumatic systems are really loud. Hydraulic systems are even more complex and more expensive, and because many hydraulic fl uids are oil based they pose a fi re hazard when they leak. These leaks also pose other safety hazards in the form of high pressure spray, slippery pools, and the sudden stoppage of the system due to reduced fl ow. Hydraulic systems can also be really loud, especially if air enters the fl uids, resulting in banging noises.” What’s more, “if the locations have the space, the return on investment is signifi cant because of how many players we are pushing through an hour,” concludes Leif.

Hologate’s intuitive software, touchscreen interface, charging rack, and video tutorial library is easy to use, allowing a single attendant to fully operate the system and the ability to attend to other attractions or tasks.
