Best Supplier - Simworx
“It was great for us to win the Best Supplier award,” said Simworx CEO Terry Monkton. “Given the calibre of the other companies that were nominated, we were humbled just to be in their company as a fellow nominee, so to actually win was amazing! To receive this award from our industry is also a fabulous morale booster for our staff that recognises the tremendous efforts that they have made in the last 12 months.
“I think that the judges noticed that we have really invested significantly in developing some amazing new technology over the course of the last 12 months and have launched several experiences to critical acclaim. Not just ‘concepts’ that never see the light of day, but physical ride developments that can be actually experienced by guests. The Immersive SuperFlume, where we developed an Immersive Tunnel attraction to suit a traditional water ride was an incredible feat of design engineering that launched a new world exclusive. The Metro of Time where passengers ‘travel’ on a 20-metre train carriage and embark on an totally unique journey through a unique application of audio visual technology. The AGV Dark Ride, a high-performance vehicle that has multi directional capabilities - which is a genuine game changer in the Dark Ride field. The Mini Flying Theatre which introduces a Flying Theatre experience to smaller operators but with no compromise on the full flying theatre experience. In addition to these theme park attractions, we also invested in enhancing our FEC product range. “Of course, we would have loved to have taken part in the celebrations in person, especially as we enjoyed the ceremony so much in Paris last year. However, Park World did a fantastic job in putting on a superb virtual event, that meant that our whole company could watch live and share in our celebration. We are looking forward to doing it all over again in Barcelona in 2021.”
