PWEA www.parkworld-online.com Best Roller Coaster Sponsored by Puy du Fou

This particular category was so hotly contested, there were two winners!

Hals-über-Kopf and Volldampf at Tripsdrill, supplied by Vekoma Rides

Speaking to Park World, Helmut Fischer, one of Tripsdrill’s owners said: “The award is a big appreciation: Both for Tripsdrill as Germany’s longest standing theme park with a history of more than 90 years – and for our two new roller coasters “Hals-über- Kopf” and “Volldampf” as our latest innovation. “Two new coasters with intertwining layouts is always something extraordinary. The innovative concept which we developed together with Vekoma, combining the new Suspended Thrill Coaster with a Family Boomerang, means a lot of fun and thrill for all target groups. Will we be taking part again next year? Of course, we’d feel honoured to be nominated again.” Vekoma’s Charlotte van Etten said: “It is amazing what Tripsdrill has accomplished and done in these very difficult times to finalise the projects and give your guests the opportunity to enjoy and give them the much needed fun especially now! I know that this has taken quite an effort and you succeeded.”

Zadra at EnergyLandia, supplied by Rocky Mountain Construction Zadra was built and designed by American manufacturer Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC). It uses RMC’s patented I-Box Track, which consists of a steel track on wooden supports. It is the first coaster to be built from the ground up using the I-Box Track, rather than using an existing structure.[2] Zadra reaches a height of 63.8 metres (206 ft) making it the tallest hybrid rollercoaster in the world. It has a 90-degree incline at drop, features three inversions and reaches a maximum speed of 121 kilometres per hour (75 mph).

Speaking on behalf of Energylandia, Kris Kodjer said: “We are extremely proud of this award for Zadra. As it turned out, we are the 6th best theme park in all of Europe, now another prestigious award! It is a great honour for us! “Zadra is a unique roller coaster. Every fan knows its parameters, but to feel its power, you must visit us. As you can see, the judges felt it...”
