How has the business been affected by COVID–19. In what ways have you had to adapt? With the reopening of CLYMB Abu Dhabi, we witnessed substantial interest from new and returning guests seeking to build upon their skills and reach new heights again. With UAE-based residents looking to rediscover Abu Dhabi, in light of the current circumstances, we have enjoyed hosting more guests from across the emirates. We have also worked alongside the relevant authorities to implement stringent precautionary measures throughout the attraction including mandatory online booking to ensure that a limited capacity is adhered to, thermal screening cameras, safe distance markers, and modified dining and shopping experiences. As a direct result of our efforts, CLYMB Abu Dhabi was awarded the ‘Go Safe’ certification by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi). The programme aims to enforce global standards for safety and cleanliness across all tourism and retail establishments in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Do you have an*F&B and retail offer, if so, how does it feed into the overall experience? At CLYMB Abu Dhabi, guests can grab a quick snack from the Base Camp Bites café, which is famous for having a one-of-a-kind backdrop overlooking The SUMMYT. We also house the Altitude café, which offers guests the chance to relax and watch their friends and families through its spectacular 360-degree view of the World’s Largest Indoor Skydiving Flight Chamber. On their way out, guests can head over to CLYMB Abu Dhabi’s retail outlet that offers a wide variety of merchandise that includes souvenirs, gifts and mementos. *The F&B outlets are currently closed until further

notice.

What have been CLYMB’s biggest achievements… and its biggest challenges? Earlier this year, CLYMB Abu Dhabi was awarded two Guinness World Records for the World’s Largest Indoor Skydiving Tunnel and World’s Tallest Indoor Artificial Climbing Wall. The attraction was also awarded Best New Adventure/Sports Attraction by the Global Brand Awards, as well as the Middle East’s Leading Adventure Tourist Attraction at the 2020 World Travel Awards.

Any plans for expansion? At Yas Theme Parks and attractions, including CLYMB Abu Dhabi, we put guest experience at the heart of everything we do and make it a priority to continuously elevate the offerings we deliver for both residents and tourists in the UAE. We plan to continue attracting visitors both locally and internationally (once the situation allows) with our record-breaking rides and experiences.

We will be sure to update you on any new developments in the future.
