Maya.
Cerillo referred first to Xplor, an adventure theme park located in the Riviera
Maya in Mexico, which he highlighted as an example of a mass tourist experience without equal in terms of security and operational efficiency, that neverless does not depredate its environment. He highlighted, among other attractions, the zip lines, the 10-kilometre route of amphibious vehicles, the 400- meter swim circuit in caverns and the simple rafts that navigate through underground circuits. He revealed that in the opinion of the Association for Challenge Course
Technology (ACCT), a world leader in evaluation and certification of standards in the field of installation, management and maintenance of risk technology, "the zip lines of Xplor (and Xplor Fuego), are the most visited and the safest in the world." During his presentation, he highlighted several factors that are fundamental
elements of Xplor's success. He cited the development of attractions based on the highest standards of safety and development of technological innovations, and he explained that the park has become a test space for the technological development of companies dedicated to security, in partnership with safety equipment supplier Petzl. Serrano also mentioned that Xplor has worked and invested heavily in
infrastructure and is continuously working on staff training with international standards. He highlighted that the park, as part of the controlled adventure tourism sector, has used the services of IRATA (International Rope Access Trade Association) to train and certify internal instructors in working at height, vertical rescue and confined spaces, which allows the formation and development of high security skills for guides, especially zip lines. In-housetechnological development has also been a determining factor for
Xplor, which has established a technical development management department, achieving technological innovations on its own. After the conference, Carlos Serrano spoke with Nariño, and when asked
about the ‘secrets’ of the group's success, responded: "There are many secrets: constant innovation, love and a constant vocation to preserve and disseminate and care for the heritage natural of our country. The way to work is with a sustainable operation.” He added: "We are always looking for the market that nobody has offered,
and since we are linking to the natural and cultural heritage of our country, the possibilities are inexhaustible. We want to show pieces of Mexico, that people know our traditions, our culture, our flora and our fauna and having such a huge source of diversity is not very difficult to be creative. Creativity has to do with unique ways of delivering it and it is important to work on the interpretation of heritage, how to connect people with the meaning and value of the cultural and natural resource that we are showing." The Coordinator of Heritage Projects at Experiences Xcaret affirmed that the
creative genius is the general director of the company, the architect Miguel Quintana Pali, who has a very competent team that supporting him. It is a one hundred percent private initiative project with a group of partners committed to Mexico, who have contributed their capital and work to generate these unique products and services.
