A 360°


The X Encuentro, or X Meeting, of the Colombian Association of Attractions and Amusement Parks (ACOLAP) saw ten industry experts demonstrate a full range of opportunities for the Latin American amusement park industry. Delegates from the United States, Mexico, Dubai and Colombia united under the slogan ‘360° Perspective, learning from successful models.’ Park World correspondent Astrid González Nariño reports The event took place in the Colombian city of Pereira,


located in the area known as the Coffee Cultural Landscape, which was declared by UNESCO in 2011, as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Topics discussed at the meeting included the importance


of safety culture, inclusion in amusement parks, e-marketing tools applied to the entertainment industry, the relationship between the amusement park industry and aviation, and the new generation of sustainable tourism management models in the sector. Speakers on the academic agenda included Jim Seay,


president of Premier Rides; Berny Bluman, director of Accessible Colombia; Carlos Serrano Cerrillo, from Xcaret Group; Gabriel Acosta, deputy manager of Operations and Flight of IATA; David Derda, general manager of Volcano Bay at Universal Orlando Resort; Lennard Francois Otto, executive director of IMG World of Dubai; and Mauricio Vargas, journalist and former Minister of Communications of Colombia.

360° de los parques de atracciones


Un completo panorama de oportunidades de la industria de los parques de atracciones en América Latina, realizaron 10 expertos de Estados Unidos, México, Dubai y Colombia, durante el X Encuentro de la Asociación Colombiana de Atracciones y Parques de Diversiones (ACOLAP), bajo el eslogan “Perspectiva 360°, aprendiendo de modelos exitosos”. El evento se realizó en la ciudad colombiana de


Pereira, ubicada en la zona conocida como el Paisaje Cultural Cafetero, declarado por la UNESCO, en 2011, como Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad. Durante el encuentro, se abordaron temas como: la


importancia de la cultura de la seguridad, inclusión en parques de diversiones, herramientas de e-marketing aplicadas a la industria del entretenimiento, relación entre la industria de los parques de atracciones y la aviación, parques acuáticos de nueva generación y modelo de gestión turística sostenible en el sector.
