How do you cope with high attendance during peak times?
David Nouaille, Puy de Fou, France: Every day, we adapt our schedule of shows to the number of expected visitors to attend to most of our activities without waiting for it. In July and August, we can present about 60 daytime shows per day.
Jason McClure, Cedar Point, US: Cedar Point manages high attendance by always being guest centered. You have to put yourself in the guest’s shoes and make sure that you prepare to help them enjoy the park the way they want to. Having 71 rides, including 18 roller coasters, the Cedar Point Shores Waterpark and the mile-long Cedar Point Beach also help out. There is quite a bit to do on your visit to the peninsula.
Amanda Thompson, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, UK: By opening bigger and better rides! Blackpool Pleasure Beach grows as the industry does, and we are constantly investing in change. Our ride intensive park is housed in a relatively tight space, but this creates a unique atmosphere for guests. Peak times and heavy footfall are compensated by creating high-capacity rides that lead to fewer and shorter queues – especially compared to other larger parks.
Jeffrey Siebert, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, US:We’re fortunate in that Fiesta Texas was designed in a circular pattern so that guests are fairly evenly found in all our themed areas. We also pride ourselves in fast, friendly service on our rides (we now have a total of six attractions with moving load stations that help expedite loading and unloading) and through great service at our dining facilities.

South Shields’ Ocean Beach park has welcomed a new roller coaster, Crash Test, which is set to stay until September, replacing the Big Wheel. Ocean Beach has also revealed that another attraction is in the works and due to arrive soon.
The TEA has announced that the 2018 TEA SATE conference will be held at Orlando’s Sea World resort. The event, held from 4-5 October, explores the theme of ‘The Experience Recipe’, and is designed to spark imagination with fresh new ‘recipes’ for creating ground-breaking experiences.
