Vanish Point slides into Adventure Island

Vanish Point is located at the center of the park next to another family-favorite thrill slide, Colossal Curl.
First plans announced for Peppa Pig World of Play
Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has entered into a purchase agreement with affiliates of Premier Parks to acquire the multi-decade lease rights to operate five parks owned by EPR Properties. The parks have previously been operated by Premier Parks of Oklahoma City, and the latest acquisitions will expand the company’s portfolio of North American parks to 25. The new parks include the water parks Wet n’ Wild Splashtown in Houston, Wet n’ Wild Phoenix (pictured above), Darien Lake near Buffalo, New York, western-themed Frontier City in Oklahoma City, and White Water Bay, a water park near Frontier City. Six Flags is the largest regional theme park
operator in the world and upon closing of the transactions, will be the largest waterpark operator in North America. With the addition of these five properties that entertained approximately two million guests in 2017, there will be an additional 20 million guests within a 100-mile radius of a Six Flags park, significantly expanding the company’s national footprint.

Merlin Entertainments, a leader in location-based entertainment, has revealed plans for the world’s first ever Peppa Pig World of Play. The standalone indoor attraction will bring to life Entertainment One’s preschool television character in a series of interactive play areas designed for all the family. The first location for Peppa Pig World of Play will be Shanghai’s LC Mall which is set to open its doors in late 2018.
Four additional sites have been
secured in Beijing in China, as well as in Dallas/Fort Worth, Michigan and the New York area in the US, which are planned to be opened before the end of 2019. The new indoor play centres are
designed to give visitors the opportunity to step into the family- inclusive world of Peppa Pig. With a design concept adaptable to different spaces, children and their families can explore ten themed play areas.
Merlin Entertainments will build
and operate these themed attractions under an exclusive multi-territory licensing agreement with eOne, which is the owner of the Peppa Pig brand.
£37m Gulliver’s Valley theme park coming to Rother Valley in 2020
What was once the Pithouse West Colliery site will, in 2020, become a £37m Gulliver’s Valley theme park. Included at the resort will be various rides and attractions aimed at families with younger children, an indoor water play area, climbing centre, glades attraction, and education and ecology centre with forest classrooms and outdoor learning adventures. Children with life threatening illnesses will be able to take shelter in a the
Gully’s Dream Village also planned for the site, and nature walks and trails also feature, allowing guests to explore the site’s numerous ponds. The park was originally given planning permission in March 2017, and will be situated only an hour’s drive from Burton, creating 250 new jobs.
