one of which, according to sources, will have something to do with mirrors. My prediction is it will probably be a virtual try-on experience where you can see yourself in a selected outfit in a mirror image or something similar.

The attractions A recent speech by Paul Ghermezian, COO of Triple Five, provided a preview of reported features and attractions at American Dream Meadowlands. Setting the bar high, a permanently installed Cirque Du

Soleil show, reported to be the most spectacular Cirque show to ever be staged, will be in residence at ADM, and is likely to be staged in the c. 3,000 seat theatre. Visually stunning, the mall will also feature a flower court with over 1.5 million flowers, changing seasonally, that aims to rival the Bellagio’s Las Vegas displays. Providing more live entertainment, a fountain area will feature a fashion show staging area, and a live action cooking area will host televised cooking shows and celebrity chefs. The main events courtyard will host over 300 events per year. North America's largest indoor water park, designed by

Dreamworks, will feature popular characters from Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and How To Train Your Dragon, as well as slides and pools, all under a glass domed building for year round aquatic fun. KidZania, a miniature city with real life experiences run for

kids aged 4 to 14 years old, includes sponsored areas by companies including Honda, Sony, Kellogg's and Coca-Cola. Roughly a two hour ‘kid-sitting’ experience, it gives parents the opportunity to enjoy other ADM features. The 24 hectare, clear-domed, Nickelodeon-themed, indoor

amusement park will have a third aimed at little kids, a third at older children and a third for adults. Two record breaking Gerstlauer roller coasters will provide a major draw: a Euro- Fighter with the world's steepest roller coaster drop, and a Spinner Coaster, the world's tallest and longest free-spinning roller coaster. The two coasters will be intertwined, which means the combined 14 vehicles will run in and around each other. There will also be a third coaster that is believed to be more kid-oriented. British-based visitor attractions operator Merlin Entertainments

will provide a number of attractions for ADM. A dynamic Legoland Discovery Centre will feature a 4-D cinema, a Lego brick pool and rides, and classes in Lego building for kids. The facility will have a special synergistic tourism relationship with the full size Legoland Park that is being build near the

Woodbury Commons Outlet Mall, located about one hour from ADM. New Jersey’s first Sea Life aquarium, meanwhile, will feature an underwater walk-through tunnel. Leisure facilities within ADM include the 12 story indoor ski,

snowboard, and tubing area will be beautifully themed and will have a ‘restaurant and party’ atmosphere, and will have real snow and a chair ski lift. A reported 24 screen movie theatre will feature 4-D screens.

A 13,935 sq m fully Kosher food court will have 15 full service restaurants and 50 quick service food offerings. A 2,044 sq m arcade and bowling alley for adults reportedly operated by Lucky Strike, will have live bands and a selection of craft beers. An NHL size ice skating arena will provide yet another huge socially interactive environment where skaters will be able to show off their stuff. Move over, Rockefeller Center! Last but not least, a 300-foot-tall Ferris wheel from Premier Rides will offer a one-of-a-kind view of Manhattan.

Putting northern new Jersey on the tourist map There is no doubt that the synergistic mix of attractions at American Dream Meadowlands will make northern New Jersey a primary tourist destination, as well as spurring secondary hotel and attraction construction throughout the region. ADM itself has plans for additional facilities after the initial phase is opened. However, Triple Five will first need to find solutions to a number of logistical challenges: notably, New Jersey blue laws which prohibit retail stores from trading on Sundays; commuter traffic; and the problem of coordinating with the adjacent Met Life Stadium, which hosts major sporting and cultural events throughout the year. Nevertheless, American Dream Meadowlands has the potential to change the lifestyle of all of Northern New Jersey and bring untold benefit to the local economy.
