Keeping an eye on the situation… W
hat a year we had! And it was certainly one of great change and
truly watershed moments. So here’s to 2023… It feels as if no time at all
has passed since I started the previous Winter issue with a call to face forwards and boldly look beyond the challenges that we’d been so recently facing. On that occasion ‘challenges’ referred to the global pandemic and its far-reaching effects. This time … well, I don’t think it’s realistic to suggest we look beyond the current issue of
the day. After all, isn’t everyone keeping a close eye, to say the least, on the current economic landscape? Of course the outlook for
the year ahead will certainly be a factor in your business ownership decision-making. The good news is that franchising presents a relatively recession-resistant business model. One franchise industry insider on page 38 explains why – our columnist Rob Hall takes a view on the next 12 months and how becoming a franchise owner still holds promise and potential, as well as a crucial safety net, in times like these.
s he confirms uality franchises have survived previous ups and downs in the economy – and they will do so again!” So that, and many other reasons he offers, should give you hope and inspire you in your research into franchising. Keep your eyes peeled too,
for upcoming information about 2023’s franchise exhibitions, the must- attend events for anyone serious about flexing their entrepreneurial ambitions. Find out more on page 10 about the essential dates for your diary – we'll see you there!
