TRBusiness raises glass to best in beauty at 2019 Travel Retail Awards


Amorepacific struck gold in the makeup and skincare categories at the The Travel Retail Awards in May while Interparfums came away with the best fragrance product for the second year running. Charlotte Turner reveals more about the award-winning products.


Company: Amorepacific Company bio: Established in September 1945, Korean beauty giant Amorepacific says it remains committed to becoming the ‘Asian Beauty Creator’, providing its global customer base with a package of beauty and health solutions through 30 brands spanning beauty, household, and healthcare products.


Winning product in Makeup category: Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion EX No.21.


Product bio: ‘Cover radiance cushion that provides perfect makeup with long-lasting light, refined cover and moisturised finish’.


What did consumers think? This product’s key strengths included its quality and suitability to DF&TR. Bloggers greatly enjoyed using the product too. The product appealed strongest to those travellers from the Middle East & Africa as well as Asia Pacific.


Winning product in Skincare, Haircare, Bath & Body category: Laneige Water Sleeping Mask


Product bio: An overnight, moisture-recharging gel mask that quickly absorbs while you sleep to deeply hydrate skin.


What did consumers think? Consumers believed the ‘general appeal’ of this product was strong, making it ideal for the DF&TR environment. Bloggers enjoyed using this product, which also appealed strongly to millennials.
