Glen Lochay Lodge KILLIN, SCOTLAND
Set on the banks of the River Lochay, just outside the village of Killin, Glen Lochay Lodge offers a quiet base for exploring the western end of Loch Tay. The lodge is designed to make the most of its riverside setting, with distinctive curved bay windows and floor-to-ceiling glazing that brings the water and surrounding landscape directly into the living space. The open-plan layout combines kitchen, dining
and seating areas in one central space, which remains bright throughout the day. Large windows ensure a constant connection to the outdoors, with changing light and weather forming part of the interior experience rather than sitting apart from it. The lodge sleeps up to six guests across two king
bedrooms and one twin room. The configuration works well for couples travelling together, families or small groups. Underfloor heating runs throughout, providing steady comfort in all seasons, whether in the depth of winter or during cooler summer evenings. Outside, the property opens onto a private
stretch of riverside ground. A hot tub is positioned
to face the water, offering an unbroken view of the river as it moves past. The setting is quiet and open, with the sound of flowing water providing a constant backdrop throughout the day. Killin village is within walking distance and
offers a selection of independent cafes, small shops and a nine-hole golf course. One of the area’s best- known landmarks, the Falls of Dochart, is also nearby, where the river flows through the centre of the village — particularly striking after heavy rain. Beyond Killin, Loch Tay provides opportunities
for paddleboarding, boating and open-water swimming. The surrounding landscape is shaped by the Ben Lawers range, known for its rare alpine flora and wide, elevated views across Perthshire. Wildlife, such as otters, herons and birds of prey, are all frequently seen along the river and in the surrounding hills. This lodge forms part of the Lochay Riverside
Collection, a small group of architecturally considered properties set along the river. The focus is on space, setting and a slower pace of stay, where the landscape plays a central role in the experience.
