Pine Bungalows ALBERTA, CANADA
Since 1936, Pine Bungalows has been family- owned, united by a shared vision to showcase the raw beauty of the Canadian Rocky Mountains to travellers from around the world. Set within a wildlife corridor, the property offers front-row access to nature, with animals often passing right by the cabins. Jasper National Park is also one of the largest Dark Sky Preserves on the planet, making stargazing here particularly special. The Pine Bungalows ethos is simple: ‘unplug and reconnect’ — with nature, with loved ones and with yourself. In an increasingly fast-paced, tech-driven world, that feels more valuable than ever. Accommodation is varied, with 50 cabins,
two chalets and 16 hotel rooms designed to suit different types of traveller. Cabins range from compact, studio-style spaces for two to larger, family-friendly options sleeping up to six. The chalets, completed in September 2023, are the newest addition and can accommodate up to 10 guests, offering generous space alongside home comforts. All cabins and chalets come with private firepits and picnic tables, encouraging guests to
fully immerse themselves in the surrounding landscape. It’s not unusual to spot wildlife nearby or even catch the Northern Lights from your own firepit. On site, Kumama Bistro and Canteen is something of a local favourite. Open daily for breakfast and dinner, it offers a refined take on comfort food, with a chef-led, ingredient-driven menu inspired by global flavours. The canteen stocks essentials for cabin stays, including s’mores kits and locally made snacks. In warmer months, soft serve is available in rotating flavours, from miso to basil. Set across 11 acres along the Athabasca River
and just a mile from Jasper town, Pine Bungalows is ideally placed for exploring the region. The front desk team is available around the clock to help plan activities, from recommending hikes to organising excursions. Cultural experiences are also woven in, including weekly fireside talks with local Indigenous Warrior Women. Whether you’re here for adventure or to slow down and switch off, Pine Bungalows offers a restorative base in the heart of Jasper National Park.
