Hermea Grand Mountain Villa & Spa CORINTHIA, GREECE
Set within the mountainous landscape of Corinthia, Hermea Grand Mountain Villa & Spa is a private estate designed as a year-round retreat. Located in the quiet village of Steno, within easy reach of Athens, it overlooks the Feneos plateau, surrounded by countryside in one of the Peloponnese’s lesser- known regions. The villa won the Interior Design Scheme at the
2025 Elite Awards, run by UK-based Design Et Al, thanks to its considered aesthetic that balances contemporary comfort with natural materials and soft, muted tones. Both the architecture and interiors are designed to connect seamlessly with the outdoors, ensuring the surrounding landscape remains central to the experience in every season. Each season brings a new character. In spring, the
hills are green and well suited to walking, with forest trails and nearby lakes to explore. Summer offers a cooler mountain climate than that of the coast, with Lake Doxa providing opportunities for swimming, paddleboarding or simply relaxing by the water. Come autumn, and the time for harvesting walnuts and honey, the landscape shifts to warmer colours.
In winter, snowfall across the surrounding peaks creates a distinctly alpine feel. The area also carries a strong sense of history.
The Monastery of Saint George Feneos sits above Lake Doxa, and the region is steeped in mythology, with links to figures such as Hermes and Hercules — references that subtly inform the villa’s identity. Exclusively available for private use, the estate
accommodates up to 19 guests, making it well suited to families and larger groups. There are six master bedrooms, along with myriad spacious living areas designed for comfort and ease. Facilities are geared towards shared time together, including an indoor heated swimming pool with child-safe access, a cinema room and a large games space with a pool table, bar, wine cellar and gaming area. Outside, the grounds extend across a generous plot, with open views and space for leisure activities such as basketball and table tennis. Food and wine are central to the region.
Nearby villages offer traditional tavernas, and the vineyards of Nemea are within easy reach for tastings and day trips.
DON’T MISS Explore the lakeside walks and trails around the Feneos plateau throughout all four seasons
