Surrounded by the Alpine scenery of the Salzkammergut, Dachsteinkönig – Familux Resort is set to expand its luxury family offering with the launch of 11 exclusive two-storey chalets, opening in time for Christmas 2026. The award- winning resort, recognised as Family Hotel of the Year 2026 by Gault&Millau and Best Children’s Hotel 2025 by
Skiresort.de, is introducing the new accommodation as part of its ongoing evolution in luxury family travel. Designed as private mountain retreats, the
chalets will combine contemporary comfort with warm Alpine character. Each will feature a private fitness area, a spacious two-level play zone for children and a year-round outdoor pool heated to 36C, allowing guests to swim throughout the seasons. Large windows and private outdoor terraces will maximise views across the mountains, reinforcing the sense of seclusion and connection to nature. Interiors will incorporate natural materials, warm tones and refined craftsmanship, while air conditioning will provide additional comfort during the summer months.
Dining remains central to the Dachsteinkönig
experience. The resort’s Firedeck restaurant is based on a concept by chef Mike Süsser, featuring live cooking over open flames that creates an interactive dining experience for families. Elsewhere, guests can enjoy an expanded fitness
and activity studio equipped with Technogym facilities, alongside classes including yoga, TRX and Reformer Pilates. The resort’s extensive pool area includes waterslides, generous relaxation spaces and a heated current pool. Children and teenagers aged from newborn to 16
are catered for through professionally supervised kids’ clubs running daily programmes throughout the week. Activities range from creative workshops in the resort’s dedicated Creative Studio to outdoor play and adventure in the surrounding mountains. Beyond the resort, the lakes of the
Salzkammergut offer opportunities for exploration. Nearby lakes including Gosausee, Hallstätter See and Wolfgangsee are popular for swimming, boating and scenic walks, placing the resort close to Austria’s most picturesque landscapes.
