Case study
Veronica Bonanno, Receptionist
“Our
aim is to be a home from home where members are looked after by a team who knows them by name”
gives advice on a variety of topics, from finances to legal support. Regular coffee chats between team members and their managers has fostered a culture of transparency and enables career progression to be identified for individuals. Subsidised accommodation in London is provided to employees who may need a stop gap between homes or who have just arrived in London. We are proud to be one of The Caterer’s
Top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2023, an achievement only made possible from the feedback of our teams!
Careers and opportunities A role at 5 Hertford Street or Oswald’s could become a career path with a multitude of opportunities Our ‘Recommend a friend’ bonus scheme encourages a community approach to recruitment and rewards employees for their involvement in building our team. Additionally, internal promotions account for approximately one-fifth of our recruitment.
The scope of career prospects is vast; from
food and beverage, front of house, back of house, kitchens, wines and beverage to head office roles such as membership, finance and HR. The company continues to expand with its
newest project, Birley Bakery, which opened in Chelsea in December 2022 and our upcoming addition, Nico’s, launching in October this year. In 2024 we will also be opening our newest club, Maxime’s in New York, so there really is something for everyone!

Veronica moved to London from Italy in 2018 to join Oswald’s when we opened. She started to work in the restaurant and after a few years of progressing through the ranks to junior head waiter, she felt like she needed a change. Rather than leaving the club to work somewhere else, she was offered the chance to join the reception team and she has been there ever since! “Working at the club is demanding because we all want to make excellence a habit,” she says. “It is challenging, yes, but you grow professionally and personally.”
