Career Pathways
Our Career Pathways programmes are available to all of our people. Colleagues choose the pathway that matches their aspirations and are assigned training – online and/or classroom based – as well as job-based skills tasks, all of which they can complete at their own pace. Katie Leeder is a multi-site manager,
who works within the defence sector of our business. Katie started out as a waitress in her local village hotel after leaving school and joined Compass as a steward, progressing to the role of general manager. “In 2021, I took on a multi-site career
pathway programme and have now gone on to do a director pathway, to continue my progression,” she says. “There is no doubt
I have gained confidence in the different aspects of my job. “I came out of school and went straight
into working in hospitality, then moving into the role with Compass Group UK & Ireland. In my time at Compass, I’ve been given lots of training opportunities and I feel like I’ve been able to develop and grow because they’ve given me the tools to do so.
“It is great to be enabled to go on these
courses all over the country and not just work with your own sector and teams. I think it’s vital that people take these opportunities. There’s such diversity in the courses and they create opportunities for development.”
