B During reading: Turn on the lights!


Use the strategy of Clarifying. Stop and notice when you have a a ‘lightbulb moment’. This is when something in the text is clarified or explained. Record your lightbulb moments below.

D After reading: Beat the buzzer


Use the strategy of Questioning and the skill of Skimming. Write a question about the text on a post-it. Your teacher can collect all of the questions and ask them of the class one by one. You must then skim the text to locate the exact line that gives the answer. When you have found it, press the buzzer (i.e. call out your name) to answer.
