Work and Leisure in Ancient Rome
What sort of work did the Romans do? Much of life in Ancient Rome revolved around work and business. Most would work until early afternoon when many Romans would visit the baths.
Farmers
Most of the Romans that lived in the countryside were farmers. They grew crops like olives, grapes for wine and wheat for bread. Livestock such as beef and pork were also common.
