Murata Releases 1 kW DRQ Series DC-DC Converters
Smyrna, GA — Murata has released its 1 kW DRQ-11.4/88-L48 series of quarter-brick, intermediate bus, DC- DC converter modules that address the growing power requirements of high-reliability networking and telecommunications infrastructure equipment. The fully regulated DRQ- 11.4/88-L48xx series provides 11.4 Vout at 88A, with a Vin range of 36 to 60 VDC, operating from 48 VDC battery systems or networking equip- ment that operates at 54 Vin. This fully regulated, fixed-frequency, 1
kW rated bus converter has an effi- ciency level of 97 percent. Developed by Murata Power

Solutions to meet the industry-stan- dard DOSA high-power quarter- brick specification, the DRQ-11.4/88- L48xx DC-DC converter modules are available with many standard fea- tures and options, including parallel load sharing of two or more modules, pre-bias protection, positive or nega- tive on/off logic options, short circuit protection, over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature protection.
The DRQ-11.4/88-L48 series sup- ports pre-biased start-up, eliminat- ing reverse current issues during system start and shutdown. Safety-rated for networking and telecommunications applications, the fully isolated modules provide 1,500 VDC of input/output isolation with an operational insulation safety rat- ing. In order to provide reliability, the DRQ-11.4/88-L48 series is designed and tested to meet the industry requirements of IPC-9592 Revision B. The converters’ integrat- ed baseplate enhances thermal per- formance, and its 97 percent efficien- cy promotes cooler operation for reli- ability and longevity. The primary applications for the
