Page 67 High-Speed Selective Soldering from SEHO
Erlanger, KY — SEHO Systems is showcasing its MaxiSelective-HS selective soldering system for maxi- mum throughput requirements at NEPCON South China. The MaxiSelective-HS is a high-quality soldering solution for short cycle times. Parallel processes in the flux- ing, preheating and soldering area, simultaneous contact of all solder joints with product specific multi- nozzle soldering tools, and the paral- lel transfer of the assemblies to the next work station suit the system for mass production. Two basic machine versions of
the MaxiSelective-HS can be equipped with four or six stations
Universal Robots Unveils New Flagship Cobot Series
Ann Arbor, MI — With its new e- Series platform, Universal Robots adds built-in force/torque sensing, enhanced safety features and improved precision for faster integra- tion in a wider range of future- proofed applications. With the new tool-centric
force/torque sensors, the e-Series of collaborative robots (cobots) is ready for applications that require force con- trol right out of the box, such as sand- ing, buffing, polishing, and deburring, where force feedback is critical for uniform results. The sensor can also be used to measure mass and perform inspection processes or precisely detect contact. The cobots are suitable

for precise finishing, assembly and electronics tasks, with a repeatability down to 1.2 mil (30 µm). A redesigned intuitive and
responsive touch interface reduces programming to a few clicks. Advanced users can utilize the new externally accessible, 500 Hz system bus to implement more complex motion control algorithms, such as advanced machine vision applications. The user interface now also
includes programming stopping time and stopping distance for protective stops. This feature greatly reduces the complexity and uncertainty involved in performing pre-deployment risk assessments. All 17 safety functions are certified by TÜV Nord and in com- pliance with the latest ISO machinery safety standards for unobstructed
human-robot collaboration. Contact: Universal Robots, 5430

working in parallel to offer the flexi- bility needed to meet individual pro- duction requirements. Additional buffer stations at the inlet and outlet of the machine complete the high-
speed system. In order to meet complex pro-
duction challenges or to respond to increasing manufacturing volumes, the MaxiSelective-HS can be expand-
ed with additional modules or it may be combined with other machine types at a later date. The MaxiSelective-HS provides
outstanding features for automated process control. Highlights of the machine’s features include flux quantity monitoring, gradient-con- trolled temperature profiles, solder level control with automatic wire supply, and automated wave height control.
