OES Develops Low-Cost Solenoid Control Modules
Van Nuys, CA — Optimal Engin - eering Systems, Inc., (OES) is now offering seven types of advanced sole- noid control modules, including pick- and-hold driver, proportional driver, closed-loop solenoid process control, pick-and-drop, load on/off power cycling, dual-proportional valve con- troller, and serially controlled sole- noid driver modules. Applications for the compact 3 x
3 in. (7.6 x 7.6 cm) modules include solenoids, valves, actuators, DC motors, electromagnets, hydraulics, LEDs, power amplifiers for electro- pneumatic proportional valves, and pressure and flow control valves. There are multiple variations of
Only NorCom optical leak technology detects both gross and fine leaks in hermetically sealed packages, this fast. Instead of using multiple technologies
and processes, you can leak test virtually any type of package with one high-speed system. The NorCom 2020™
series inspects hermetically sealed components to
MIL-STD 883 requirements either in seam seal trays, or when already mounted to circuits boards and assemblies. It automatically rejects failed devices, and reports the leak rate for each part, eliminating “divide and conquer”leak testing.

each of the seven basic types of mod- ules to select from to fit specific applications, such as single-device, low-side driver, two-device, low-side driver, single-device, selectable low- and high-side driver, two-device, selectable low- and high-side driver, +50 or +80 VDC versions, high-cur- rent versions, serially controlled, and bidirectional load cycling versions. Standard features of these com-
pact, low-cost, off-the shelf modules include high efficiency, microcomput-
er-based, high reliability, power sup- ply from +9 to +50 VDC, and high output current — 15A peak, 4A rms. The modules also incorporate a fly- back (snubber or free wheeling) diode per output device.
Solenoid control module. Optional accessories include a
solenoid commander card, solenoid control module, DIN rail mounting bracket, track ball and joystick con- trollers, solenoid control system, and various solenoids. All components can be ordered as a complete plug-
and-play system. Contact: Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc., 6901 Woodley

HellermannTyton Adds Flex to Adhesive Cable Tie Mounts
Milwaukee, WI — HellermannTyton has introduced its FlexTack, a new line of adhesive cable tie mounts designed to adhere to curved and moderately angled surfaces. The product enables installers to route wires, cables and hoses along areas that may have been considered off- limits. The mounts incorporate a high-bond acrylic adhesive pad on one side and a four-way cable tie channel on the other. FlexTack is designed to work with 18 to 50 lb (8.2 to 22.7 kg) cable ties. The company has made it possi-
ble to mount bundles nondestructively in places where, conventionally, only a screw mount could be used. OEMs, such as appliance machine builders, will benefit from the new cable tie mounts. FlexTack is designed for use on varnished, powder coated, bare metal or plastic surfaces. Made of heat- stabilized PA66 nylon, it is available in both black and white. HellermannTyton offers cable

Cincinnati, OH — EXAIR’s new 3/8 in. (9.5 mm) Super Air Wipe™ has been designed to provide a 360° airstream that can blow off, dry, clean, or cool material passing through it. The split design can be clamped around continuously mov- ing material, such as wire, cable, pipe, hose, and extruded shapes. The air wipe ejects a small
amount of compressed air through a thin, slotted nozzle that pulls in high volumes of air from the surrounding room. The airflow ejects from 360° of its inner diameter. Coupling brackets that secure each half of the air wipe can be latched together or removed quickly. Additional shims can be installed if more blowoff force is required. Air velocity can be varied
