Cicoil Adds Third Case Study Feature to Website: “Clean Cables Save the Day.”

Valencia, CA —Cicoil has added a new case study feature to its website, enti- tled “Clean Cables Save the Day.” The case study showcases how the compa- ny’s Class 1 cleanroom rated hybrid cables eliminate cluttered wires and pneumatic tubing, while simplifying and organizing applications. The customer, a manufacturer of high-speed pick-and-place assem-

bly systems used in semiconductor wafer handling robots, required a way to eliminate downtime and pro- vide continuous, uninterrupted oper- ation in a Class 10 cleanroom. The company’s previous cables

were only rated to Class 100 and did not meet the stringent requirements of their application. The customer also wanted to reduce the number of

cables in use, increase production uptime and develop an overall better cabling solution. After evaluating several round

cable designs that did not meet the packaging and particulate count requirements, the customer contact- ed Cicoil to explore flat cable options. Unlike the round cable options that did not meet their expectations, the

customer contacted Cicoil to provide a flexible solution to their inflexible application. Cicoil was able to offer two high-

ly flexible flat tubing and electrical hybrid cables that were able to replace five round cable and four Teflon tub- ing cable assemblies. In addition, each of the air tubes was isolated from each of the other components, resulting in enhanced precision and extended operational performance. Cicoil’s designs did not just

meet the Class 10 standard, but exceeded those requirements with a Class 1 rating. Compared with stiff and bulky cables supplied by round cable manufacturers, Cicoil offered a durable, flexible cable that required less space than round cables. The new cables incorporate

ultra-fine conductor strands and reduced weight, while providing excellent electrical and signal char- acteristics. Parallel conductors and Cicoil’s proprietary Flexx-Sil™ jack- et contribute mechanical strength, flexibility and durability under con- tinuous motion. The company’s non-particulate-

generating Flexx-Sil jacketing materi- al contains no contaminants or halo- gens and offers resistance to to deion- ized water, bleach, alcohol, UV light, cold temperatures –85°F (–65°C), steam, radiation, mechanical stress, and many harsh chemicals. When a non-adhering jacket surface is re - quired, the company offers its Slide -

Rite™ low-friction coating options. Contact: Cicoil, 24960 Avenue
