Essemtec Intros Expandable Placement and Dispensing Platform

Pitman, NJ — Essemtec’s new FOX2 platform is now available in configu- rations that combine jetting and dis- pensing, 2.5D placement, electrical testing, inventory control, and trace- ability in a single machine. The system has a machine foot-

print of approximately 11 ft2 (1m2) and accommodates PCB sizes up to 16 x 12 in. (406 x 305 mm). Compo- nents with sizes from 01005 (0402 metric) up to 3.15 x 3.15 in. (80 x 80 mm) can be placed. The machine achieves 10,800 CPH (IPC-9850) at 50 µm, at three sigma, with a two-

Fuji Launches Next-Gen Twin Spindle Lathe

Vernon Hills, IL — Fuji has launched its CSD-300II front-facing twin spin- dle lathe. The new system is an up- grade to the CSD-300, designed to be more robust with increased rigidity and loaded with new and improved features for faster, easier and stronger operation. The CSD-300II achieves faster

robot traverse and turret indexing speeds than its predecessor. Turret indexing times are as low as 0.19 sec- onds, robot cycle times 17.9 seconds

nozzle head. The dual-head version is based

on the original platform, with linear motors and a mineral-cast frame. The frame provides excellent speed, stability, accuracy, and makes the machine suitable for high-mix, low- to medium-volume production. When solder paste dispensing is

added to the system, the need for screen printing can be reduced or eliminated, allowing for board design changes and modifications to be done in real time.

FOX2 modular SMT production system. The system is flexible and ex-

pandable and can be configured with up to 180 feeders. The FOX2 can be fitted with a jet valve for SMD glue or solder paste for manufacturing of 2.5D assemblies, or with a lower-cost micro-screw valve. The system also includes the company’s intuitive

and loading times of 4.8 seconds. Operation and changeover are

easier and more efficient, as well. The horizontal lathe is equipped with a new dual-gantry robot and the lat- est FANUC controls. The CSD-300II includes an improved custom HMI and a single integrated FANUC con- trol panel that allows for convenient operation and set up of the machine and robot. A clamp/unclamp switch for the

robot chuck and the robot’s central- ized lubrication system system are included as standard. The system comes ready to quickly connect to IoT, including Fuji’s LAPSYS desk- top software. Available as an option, LAPSYS

reads scanned laser etchings to trace the origin of a part, including ma- chine and spindle, and enables part traceability, predictive maintenance

and remote operation. Contact: Fuji Machine America Corp., 171 Corporate Woods
