Alpharetta, GA — “Frameless routing” is a new option to increase efficiency of depaneling with the IPTE depaneler FlexRouter II. With frame- less routing, depaneling of printed circuit boards without a frame leaves no waste after milling. This technology increases efficiency and helps to conserve the environment. A new transport solu- tion was developed for PCBs without a frame, to provide fast, stress-free, precise depaneling with a milling spindle. The FlexRouter II is designed especially for
mid-sized to high-volume production lots that have a wide variety of different PCB versions. These are demanding high-mix depaneling tasks based on short machine set-up procedures. De- spite its small footprint, boards with sizes of up to 13 x 15.8 in. (33 x 40 cm) can be processed. Four of the machine’s seven axes are integrated as precise linear drives.
Epoxies, Etc., Offers Silver-Filled Epoxy
Cranston, RI —Most assemblies that use electrically conductive epoxy ad- hesives require 24 hours of cure time or the use of elevated temperatures for faster setting times. The 40-3906 is thin-film set within 90 minutes at room temperature and within six hours is close to full hardness. This product has a combination of quick cure speed and a reasonable working time of 30 minutes.
During use, the PCB panel is fed into the
FlexRouter II, clamped securely and adjusted by a precision measurement system. Since a freely programmable servo-gripper is used for clamp- ing during cutting, a panel-specific gripper is generally not required. The gripper mechanism uses a three-axis
Cartesian system assembled on a rotating plat- form. The milling spindle under the panel is also positioned by a three-axis Cartesian system and can be equipped with different spindle types. Changeover from one product to the next is made simple, because the gripper’s two fingers
are exchanged automatically. Contact: IPTE USA, 5935 Shiloh Road

40-3906 silver-filled conductive epoxy adhesives.
40-3906 is solvent-free and filled
with unique silver particles. It may be used as a repair material for electrical traces providing better chemical re- sistance and adhesion than conductive inks. Other common applications in- clude solder replacement, EMI\RFI shielding, grounding, die attach, SMD attach, and flip chip attachments. 40- 3906 has chemical resistance to jet fuels, DI water, deicing fluids, and many organic solvents. For easy application, the 40-
3906 is packaged in convenient pre- weighed kits and also available in FreezeBond® premixed and frozen
syringes. Contact: Epoxies, Etc., 21
