Perfect Plate Seals for Every Application
Microplates are a standard tool in bioanalytical research and clinical diagnostic testing laboratories. They are used in virtually every Life Sciences application as they simplify the handling of large numbers of samples and enable automation.
Since practically every experiment includes incubation and/or necessitates sample storage, it is essential that plates can be securely sealed in order to avoid contamination and evaporation of precious samples. Several types of sealing systems are available from Alpha Laboratories to match your application requirements.
The extensive range of seals includes fi lms for PCR and qPCR, which offer better adhesion and combine an optically transparent polyester sealing fi lm with a strong, ultra-smooth, non-absorbing medical-grade adhesive for superior performance in real-time PCR applications. Designed for both long- and short-term storage, other fi lms support manual and robotic processing of samples, maximise signal to noise in fl uorescence and luminescence assays, and promote uniform gas exchange in cell and tissue culture procedures.
With high throughput HPLC systems using solvents, getting a good seal can be problematic. Alpha Laboratories have sealing fi lms with special features which avoid tip fouling and strong solvent resistant adhesives, making them particularly suitable for this application.
In addition to fi lms, we also offer PCR Foils. These combine soft non-permeable aluminium with strong medical-grade adhesive to eliminate the need for heat-sealing devices or mats when protecting samples and prevent evaporation during PCR thermal cycling.
