58 Partnership Agreement to Distribute Single Sample Evaporation Systems Announced

SP Industries CEO Brian Larkin has announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Ecodyst (NC, USA). In making the announcement Larkin stated, “This new partnership enables our SP Genevac brand to be the comprehensive, one-stop-shop for all evaporation solutions. Ecodyst’s revolutionary single sample evaporator line complements our SP Genevac world-renowned centrifugal evaporators for parallel sample evaporation and together lets us work with customers more effectively to help streamline and accelerate the drug discovery process.”

George Adjabeng, CEO of Ecodyst commented, “Ecodyst is passionate about the innovative devices that we bring to the laboratory equipment industry and have emerged as an innovative leader and creator of high quality, high capacity single evaporator technology. This new partnership with SP is a significant milestone for Ecodyst and it will enable us to make these products available to more customers worldwide.’’

During sample preparation, evaporation is used if samples need to be dried prior to analysis. If there is just one sample, a single sample evaporation system is used, and Ecodyst offers a full range of single sample evaporators from benchtop to industrial models, all offering their self-cooling condenser technology for maximum efficiency, sample quality and lower environmental impact. When multiple samples need drying, SP Genevac parallel centrifugal evaporators eliminate the solvent drying bottleneck in the drug discovery and synthetic organic chemistry laboratory. These systems, which come equipped with Genevac Dri-Pure patented anti-bumping technology, range from bench-top to high throughput scale and have been proven capable of removing even the most difficult solvent mixtures without compromising sample purity or integrity.

Larkin added: “We are excited to partner with a like-minded organisation that approaches product design with a keen understanding of the needs and challenges facing today’s customers. Having a broader offering that includes single sample evaporators is particularly relevant for those engaged in pharmaceutical and cannabis sample preparation workflows. The SP team is looking forward to working with our customers to provide them with the best solution for their requirements in conjunction with the unparalleled service and lifetime applications support that have led to SP Genevac being the recognised market leader.”

Researchers are turning to Integra Biosciences’ VIAFLO 96/384 handheld electronic pipette for rapid and precise filling of specialised 3D cell culture plates, to increase throughput and meet the demands of high volume drug discovery programs. Specialised 3D cell culture plates, such as Corning®

Elplasia® microplates, enable highly reproducible growth of uniform 3D cultures for downstream applications. The VIAFLO 96/384 handheld electronic

pipette is the perfect liquid handling solution for this and all other 3D cell screening applications. This affordable, versatile and easy to use solution has a small footprint, making it ideal for busy or crowded laboratories, and for use in a laminar flow cabinet. Interchangeable pipetting heads provide the flexibility to accommodate assays in 24 to 1536 well formats, in volume ranges from 0.5 to 1250 µl, and protocols can be pre-programmed to reduce operator error and user-to-user variability.

Corning has developed and validated protocols for its Elplasia plates, performing cell seeding, media exchange and wash steps with the VIAFLO 96/384. Crucially, the VIAFLO 96/384 is simple to program, enabling strict control of the exact dispense height, and speed of aspiration and dispensing to avoid damaging the delicate cell spheroids, ensuring reproducible liquid transfer into each individual well of the plate, for fast, accurate and precise multichannel pipetting. Up to thousands of spheroids can be generated and cultured per plate under uniform conditions, increasing throughput at a fraction of the cost of a fully automated liquid handling robot.

Make the VIAFLO 96/384 you trusted partner for high throughput 3D cell culture applications. More information online: ilmt.co/PL/XaEq

Purpose designed, RSC research grade laboratory autoclaves from Priorclave suit sterilising applications requiring a taller chamber profile, it makes them ideal for high-volume throughput or frequently tasked handling of taller and bulkier loads.

All steam sterilising process parameters are easily programmed through the very latest Tactrol®

3

microprocessor control system, allowing for adjustment of temperature and time for simple cycles to fully featured multi-programme operation.

Priorclave is a technical innovator in autoclave design and this is reflected in the RCS 350 autoclave with features such as lower loading heights, simpler set-up procedures and safer door opening mechanisms. The chamber door on the RCS 350 has a patented two hand-wheel door closure system, the lower hand-wheel on the chamber door is fitted with thermal and pressure locks to prevent opening at load temperatures above 80°C and pressures above 0.2 bar.

The RSC 350 can be supplied by Priorclave with a choice of steam generation - electrical or direct steam heated.

As standard, the RSC 350 front loading research grade laboratory autoclave is fitted with an automatic water-fill however as a dedicated autoclave manufacturer Priorclave is able to incorporate a number of options into the standard steriliser framework of these high capacity sterilisers such as water cooling jackets, pre-cycle vacuum in which multiple vacuum stages are programmed with interspersed heating to achieve greater steam penetration of difficult media as well as post cycle drying.

The RSC 350 autoclave also benefits from Biomaster protection, a tough special epoxy finish proven to reduce bacterial growth by up to 99.99% and is highly effective against MRSA, E coli, Listeria, Legionella, Campylobacter, Salmonella, Pseudomonas and over 50 other species.

Purchase of a RSC 350 autoclave means buying into British designed and manufactured laboratory autoclaves that have a global presence and are supported by one of the very best pre-and aftersales support service, a dedicated team ensures customers maximise the efficiency of their Priorclave wherever it is installed.
