New Black Pearl High Performance Rotational Viscometer
WE HELP YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT: XILTRIX
The Black Pearl Viscometer from ATS RheoSystems is a high performance rotational viscometer capable of both steady shear and yield stress testing in a rugged, compact size footprint.
MONITORING SYSTEMS.
Designed for performing both routine rheological tests such as single point viscosity checks for QC, to complex rheological evaluation for R&D, the Black Pearl Viscometer is ideal for investigating the mixing, stirring, and process flow characteristics of fluid systems. The unit comes standard with built in Peltier Temperature Control for all measuring systems. Cone and plate, parallel plate and concentric cylinder measuring systems are included.
The measuring systems employ novel ‘Quick Capture’ mounting technology. The gapping mechanism is highly accurate and user adjustable.
The Black Pearl has an Angular Velocity range from 0.01 to 200 rad/s, a Torque Range from 0.005 to 20 mNm and a Temperature Range from -10° to 120°C.

In response to customer demand for easy loading/unloading materials into their isolators – Solo Containment designers have developed a Transfer Hatch system that can be easily attached to any flexible film isolator design. Assuring easier loading cycles compared to using conventional glove-bag zipper airlocks.
Manufactured in cost effective acrylic Solo claim their Hatch offers both cost and functionality advantages over stainless steel pass box systems.
M12 Micro DIN Enabled Temperature Sensors.
The Solo Hatch may be integrated into any containment isolator or provided as a standalone item for facility through wall mounting. A wall bulk head flange is available to ensure a hermetic seal is created between the hatch body and the facility structure.
Through wall mounting brings the cost benefits of the Solo design to facility applications such as pharmacy, medical or laboratory applications where stainless steel transfer hatch technology is beyond budget constraints.
The Solo Transfer Hatch System is available in a range of sizes with either gasket seal mechanical interlock doors or with a plc /inflatable seal package - that may be upgraded to control a ventilation purge, decontamination fogging or a bio- decontamination HPV cycle.
Current sizes are based around a 500mm cube and 600mm cube hatch body but Solo MD Martyn Ryder stated: “Whilst initial designs are based around simple cubic formats the acrylic hatch system may be customised to suit virtually client specific applications and has the benefits of lower cost and easier operation monitoring.”

New Addition to Refrigerated Bath Circulators
Huber has launched the new CC-508 - the latest addition to the refrigerated bath circulators range offers temperatures down to -55°C. The CC-508 thermostat is ideally suited for controlling the temperature of externally closed applications or for thermoregulating objects directly within the bath.
Omega’s new M12 Thermocouple and Pt100 sensors have been designed for ease of installation and maintenance. Termination is achieved through a polarised M12 connector with a hand-tightened knurled nut completely eliminating wiring errors and, as no tools are required, downtime for a sensor change is drastically reduced.
Previously the only options available for cold end termination were traditional in-line plastic connectors or conventional terminal head arrangements where a more permanent, robust installation was required. Those were often supplied with vague IP ratings and a variety of electrical connections requiring additional thread adaptors and termination glands to complete the system.
This new range of M12 sensors overcomes all those difficulties. Having a vibration resistant construction, low probe mass and an ingress protection rating of IP67 they are ideally suited to a broad application range. Typical users include industrial, hygienic, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and research laboratories where process conditions such as outdoor, wet, high humidity, wash-down situations and other challenging environments exist.
They are available off-the-shelf with either a stainless steel or Inconel sheath in both 3mm and 6mm diameter with standard lengths of 200, 500, 750, 1000 and 1500mm.
The range is further enhanced by a variety of process fittings including BSP, NPT and metric mounting threads, as well as Tri-clamp flanges for hygienic and vacuum applications.

Operating within the temperature range of -55 to +200°C, heating powers from 3kW and cooling powers from 1.5kW @ 0°C are available. The powerful variable speed pump guarantees an optimum circulation of 33l/min and 0.9 bar (pressure side) and 22l/min and 0.4 bar (suction side). The CC-Pilot controller offers professional features to meet the highest application demands.
Housing is made of stainless steel with a thermoregulated lid to prevent the formation of ice or condensation. The bath volume is 5l and is fitted with a tap on the front for easy draining.
